FanDuel became the second sportsbook to open in West Virginia. The daily fantasy sports giant launched its grand opening at The Casino Club at Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs on Thursday, September 13.
The FanDuel sportsbook is home to 21 televisions. It has a high-end lounge inside the sportsbook. Guests may also watch the games in the Twelve Oaks cocktail lounge. That bar is a part of the race book.
FanDuel does not currently have a mobile betting app available in West Virginia. It is in the testing phase with West Virginia gaming regulators. This is also the case with William Hill, the other sportsbook operator in the state. A FanDuel sports betting app for Android and iOS platforms is expected to go live by the end of the year.
The company operates a mobile betting app in New Jersey through its sportsbook location at The Meadowlands. The app launched on September 1. FanDuel led all New Jersey sportsbook operators in August with just over $3 million in revenue. This was half of the entire state’s revenues from sports betting last month.
FanDuel’s location across the Hudson River from New York City helped it lead the market. The sportsbook does not have any competition in the area, with most other operators in the state working out of Atlantic City.
The Casino Club Greenbrier is a members-only establishment. It is the only private casino in the United States. Only guests of the resort and members of its sporting and golf and tennis clubs may access the casino and sportsbook.
White Sulphur Springs residents and other West Virginians will be able to bet with FanDuel when the mobile app is released. Players will be able to create accounts without having to visit the property. Deposits and withdrawals will be processed through the app using bank transfers, as well as debit and credit cards.
