As another fall weekend approaches, bettors in the Mountain State have an additional full schedule of football to wager on.
Even though they dropped their last game in heartbreaking fashion, the Mountaineers are favored this weekend. They host No. 16 Kansas State at Milan Puskar Stadium on Saturday at noon.
WVU enters this matchup at a disappointing 3-2, following a seven-point defeat to Texas Tech.
It will look to get back in the win column against a tough team in Kansas State. The Wildcats are 4-1 to start the season and are surprisingly at the top of the Big 12 standings.
They are a perfect 4-0 in conference thus far, and have a great victory over Oklahoma already.
Regardless, the online sports betting apps in WV show the Mountaineers as the favorite this weekend.
There’s plenty of other college football betting available, as well.
Two of the best teams in the Big Ten will get together Saturday night when Ohio State travels to Penn State. Both sides are ranked and looking to take the conference title this year.
On Sunday, the NFL features another important slate of games as its season hits the halfway point.
A couple of local sides will battle for the division lead in the AFC North. The 5-1 Baltimore Ravens are playing at home against the only undefeated team remaining, the 6-0 Pittsburgh Steelers.
Although all of the other major American sports have concluded with the Los Angeles Dodgers winning the World Series, there are several betting markets outside of football.
Sportsbooks include odds for European soccer, along with ATP tennis and the PGA Tour.
Let’s breakdown the betting odds for the best games this weekend at WV sportsbooks.
Betting On WVU Football
Despite not winning a week ago, the Mountaineers didn’t play a bad game. An untimely turnover led to the winning touchdown for Tech and dropped WVU to 2-2 in conference.
This week, coach Neal Brown and his squad can bounce back in a big way.
A victory would tighten things up in the Big 12 and give the Mountaineers some needed confidence heading into their last four games.
Kansas State is the only team with four conference wins so far. It’s taken down Texas Tech, TCU, Kansas, and Oklahoma to jump out to a notable start in 2020.
While it might seem like the Wildcats have the advantage on paper, WV sportsbooks differ. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Mountaineers are laying -3.5 in the point spread Saturday. Their moneyline is also available with odds of -162.
Of course, bettors can always take the other side of this matchup. Kansas State is receiving +3.5, with a moneyline of +133.
This week’s game total is slightly lower than previous WVU games. DraftKings has it set at 46 points at the moment.
Besides the game total, you’re able to wager on specific team totals, too. WVU’s total is listed at 24.5 points, whereas KSU’s line is 20.5 points.
The online sportsbook shows a more sizable spread for the game between No. 3 Ohio State and No. 18 Penn State.
It has the Buckeyes giving -12 in the spread, with a moneyline of -500. Bettors who like the Nittany Lions can take the +12, or for them to win outright at +335.
DraftKings sees this game having more offense, with the game total currently at 63.5.
If you think that spread might be too many points to give, first-half odds are always offered. Ohio State is laying -6.5 in the first-half spread with a moneyline of -360, while PSU is getting the +6.5, with a moneyline of +245.
NFL Week 8 Odds
Once your college football Saturday is complete, you can turn your attention to Week 8 in the NFL.
Sunday includes 12 total games, concluding with the Cowboys vs. Eagles in the nightcap.
The top game of the day is arguably the contest between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Through seven weeks, they have proven they’re two of the best teams in the entire league.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger looks solid this season after missing the majority of last year to injury. The Steelers are 6-0 for the first time since 1978.
They’ll look to stay unbeaten, but know Baltimore is one of the toughest teams in the NFL on both sides of the ball.
Its defense is ranked first overall with just slightly over 17 points against per game. If Lamar Jackson and the offense can get rolling, Pittsburgh could have some issues.
FanDuel Sportsbook has Baltimore as a small favorite at home. The Ravens are giving -3.5 points, with a moneyline of -200.
Pittsburgh is getting the +3.5 points, while its moneyline is at +168.
The online sportsbook does a great job of providing alternate lines, too.
You can take the Ravens giving -7.5 instead, with odds of +150. Perhaps you think the books have it all wrong and the Steelers will easily come out on top. You could wager on Pittsburgh giving -6.5 with odds of +340.
Although their records aren’t nearly as good, the Sunday night game between the Eagles and Cowboys also determines the division lead.
The undermanned Cowboys are getting +8.5, with a moneyline of +310. On the other side, Philadelphia is listed at -390 to come out with a win.
With both teams struggling to score lately, FanDuel has the game total as one of the lowest of the week at 43 points.
Additional NFL Lines
Cleveland Browns -2.5 (Moneyline: -146) vs. Las Vegas Raiders +2.5 (Moneyline: +124)
Cincinnati Bengals +5.5 (Moneyline: +190) vs. Tennessee Titans -5.5 (Moneyline: -230)
